OUR STORY

A Calling. A Prayer. A Church.

Bethesda Church began with a calling from God, a step of faith, and a simple gathering in a living room.

In 2018, God called Sal and Estela Chacon to step into pastoral ministry and begin what would become Bethesda Church. At the time, Sal had built a successful career in mortgage and real estate, while both Sal and Estela had pursued their education—Sal graduating from UTA and Estela from UNT.

Leaving that path was not an easy decision, but they knew God was calling them to something greater: a life of purpose, serving people, and making Jesus known.

Following God's Call

Following God's Call

After much prayer, Sal and Estela received their pastoral commission and ordination through Pastors Ramirez in Boston, Massachusetts.

They didn't know exactly what the future would hold. But they knew they had been called to follow God wherever He would lead.

Together, they knelt in prayer and wrote down the mission God had placed in their hearts:

LOVE GOD.
LOVE PEOPLE.
MAKE JESUS KNOWN.

That mission became the foundation of Bethesda Church.

Where It All Began

Where It All Began

A Church Started in a Living Room

In February 2018, Sal and Estela invited a few friends and family members to gather in their living room for the first service.

It was simple. There was no large building or elaborate setup—just a small group of people gathering together to worship God, hear His Word, and follow the calling He had placed before them.

As the church began to grow, a member graciously opened her home for services. God continued to provide, and eventually another door opened for Bethesda to move into the facility where the church gathers today.

What began in a living room became a growing church family.

Then & Now

Then & Now

From a Living Room to a Church Family

Bethesda began simply—with a calling, a prayer, and a living room.

Through every season, God has continued to lead, provide, and grow His church. While the setting has changed, the heart of Bethesda has remained the same.

We are still committed to the mission God gave us from the beginning:

Love God. Love People. Make Jesus Known.

Our Mission Today

Our Mission Today

Everything we do flows from these three simple commitments.

Love God
We seek to know God, worship Him, follow His Word, and grow in our relationship with Him.

Love People
We believe God's love changes how we see and care for one another. We want to be a church where people are welcomed, valued, encouraged, and loved.

Make Jesus Known
We want the hope of Jesus to reach beyond our church walls and into our families, community, and world.

A Story God Is Still Writing

Bethesda's story didn't end with that first gathering in 2018. God continues to write the story through every person who walks through our doors, every life that is changed, every relationship that is built, and every opportunity to make Jesus known.

And we're grateful to be part of what He is doing.
